Two Claims – One Common Defense

We received two new claims this week.  In the first instance a property manager is demanding $200,000 for the replacement of concrete decking due to splashing of “aggressive water”.  In the second instance a parent wants money to compensate for the rash she claims her children received while swimming in a commercial pool.  Both claims blame the swimming pool technician for the improper use of chemicals.  The best defense to these and all chemical-related claims is the pool technician’s chemical log.

Do you keep a log?  Think of how you or your insurance carrier will respond if you don’t have this documentation.

A chemical log is your best defense to all claims where the customer claims that excessive or inadequate chemicals are responsible for their damages.  It is just foolish not to keep one.
